Roadway Improvements and Parking

In their current condition, the adjacent roadways of Tuthill Road and Burlington Avenue are not up to current municipal standards. As part of the modernization, the areas of the roads bordering the development will be improved, including widening the streets to current city standards providing expanded driving lanes.

Additionally, the adjacent roadways will be improved with curb and gutters, storm sewers, sidewalks, street lighting, and trees. These major improvements will enhance visibility and safety for vehicles and pedestrians in the neighborhood.

In coordination with the long-term planning of the City of Naperville, a small portion of the property will be reserved for the future realignment of the intersection at Tuthill and Plank Roads.

On-Site Parking Above Requirements

As designed, there will be 25% more on-site parking than the city code requires to support visitors, reduce street congestion, improve safety, and enhance resident convenience.

Sidewalks & Walking Paths

Consistent with plans envisioned in the 2010 Plank Road Study, the addition of sidewalks will enhance the walkability and connectivity of the new residences and existing homes and businesses in the broader neighborhood.

LPC has been collaborating with the DuPage County Department of Transportation and City of Naperville to undertake an improvement program for the area between Naper Blvd. and The Residences at Naper & Plank. This will include the development of a meandering walking path along Naper Blvd., where none exists today, increasing the walkability of the community.

Within The Residences at Naper & Plank, the community will be connected with walking paths and outdoor communal features that provide residents and visitors with an enhanced living experience. The walking path system will interconnect with the proposed public park.
